These were the Top 3 Trends of the Summer

Every fashion blog loves to predict the new trends of the season (mine included!) but this year, I decided to go for the sure thing.

Taking stock of the trends towards the end of the season is always a good idea. Why you ask?

Well, for one, these are the trends that are likely to show up again next year. A trend that lasted through this summer may not be hot on the runway next year, but it will still be relevant in the real world.

Two, knowing these trends will help you shop. Sales for summer items are happening now and thrift stores are already seeing items from the beginning of the summer. Hard to believe, but true.

And three, you just went through the summer season. Right now, you are more familiar with what is in your summer wardrobe than any other time. You know the pieces that you are missing from your closet and you know which pieces you don’t actually wear. This is a great time to be real about what you actually need. So, even if you are not planning to purchase any items for next year now, jot down those items that you are missing and avoid unnecessary purchases next summer.

So, now that I have your attention. Here were the top three trends of summer 2022!

#1 COASTAL GRANDMOTHER

The Coastal Grandmother trend is all about draping your self in luxurious linens and cashmere in light neutral shades with touches of blue. Oversized button ups, loose pants and some laid back preppy accessories are the key pieces, but any linen piece in a neutral color will most likely do. If you need more inspiration see Diane Keaton in “Something’s Gotta Give”.

#2 DOPAMINE DRESSING

This trend is 100% about playing with color. Love hot pink? (Barbiecore, anyone?) Wear it head to toe! Or just wear a pop of it. It is all fair game. The point is that you are wearing a color that makes you feel and look great. Unsure what colors look best on you? Contact me about a Color Consultation.

#3 THE NAP DRESS

Well, this one just says it all doesn’t it? Comfortable, easy, breezy dresses that you could actually nap in. Not a tight belt or rigid zipper in sight. What’s not to like about this trend? Slide into some sandals and grab a cute bag and go. You can go to the farmer’s market, a baby shower and out for drinks all in the same day without changing your outfit. Throw on a blazer and wear it to work. These dresses are pretty dreamy indeed.

So, what do you think? Have you worn any of these trends? Are you planning on trying them out? Are there other trends from Summer 2022 that you loved? Let us know in the comments!

Love,

Lisa
