5 Fun Jewelry Trends To Try in 2021

I have been known to wear the same earrings for months. Yes, thank you, that is very minimalist of me and definitely in the spirit of a jewelry capsule collection, but let’s admit it, it is also pretty boring. So, in the era of zoom meetings and well, boredom, I have decided that it is time to up my jewelry game.

I scoured all of the jewelry trend articles and runway looks and found my favorites. There is zero percent I will be rocking any of these looks literally, but I plan to take inspiration and I hope you might enjoy doing the same. Because, if jewelry is not fun, why do it?

Big Chains

My take: I have a thrifted chunky gold chain, that is no where near as big as these, but I think it will do the trick. I plan on layering it over black crew necks to add a glow to my face.

Beach Beads

My take: Did I say zero percent chance? Oops. I lied. I am really liking these, but then again, my style leans hard to bohemian. I think I will try layering some red seed beads with a longer gold (thin) chain and with pendant. Basically a mash of look one and two.

Hammered Metals

My take: I have always liked hammered metals so this was a nice surprise. The key to making things fresh is to wear brighter metals or sharper edges. I don’t have a piece like this, but I have been eyeing gold hammered bracelets and cuffs for years now, so this might be my year folks!

Mis-Matched and One Earring

My take: Harry Styles rocked the one earring look at the 2019 Met Gala. Since then there appears to be a shift towards mis-matching your earrings. One long, one stud. This has been a trend before, but if Harry Styles is involved I am willing to revisit it. Looking at my earrings, I have this super cute pair of studs from an etsy shop that are calcite chips and I have a pair of beaded hoop earrings with the same color blue in them. I might just give this look a go some crazy summer day. I do expect that most of the day people will be telling me I lost an earring, but at least it will be a conversation starter!

Coins and Good Luck Charms

My take: This one makes total sense to me. Who doesn’t need a little good luck right now? A charm from a loved one, etched quotes or names held close, coins from far away places, collections of happy memories stringed together. Most of us have pieces like this. I see them working best with chic, mature looks which will add contrast to the sweetness of charms.

What do you think? Are you inspired to have a little fun with jewelry this year? Which trends are your favorites?

If you are feeling like this is a little too much work. No worries. There are plenty of totally legit ways to look stylish while being lazy.

As for me, I am all in. Keep an eye on my Instagram @stylingvt where I #trythetrends from my closet!

Have a Harry Happy Day!
